Welcome to English 9 and Honors English 9 with Mrs. Bitel!
{me on the mountain.jpg} Hiking in North CarolinaAbout Mrs. Bitel
I grew up in Michigan and I am a Michigan State University alumni. My husband and I moved out to Maryland in July 2010, and we really enjoy it out here. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, yoga, spending time with loved ones, and traveling. I love teaching English, and especially like teaching English to 9th graders. It is a challenging time for students as they transition from middle school to high school, but it is a huge year for growth.
I'm available to help students before school from about 7:15am-7:35am and after school most days until about 3:45. Students can arrange to meet with me for extra help, to retake quizzes/tests, or for a conference regarding their grade. I also work Twilight School at PHS every Monday from 3-5pm.
Feel free to contact me through email at : skbitel@ccps.org or leave a message through PHS main line 410-996-6000. I look forward to hearing from you!

Currently, we are working toward sentence proficiency. Students are almost finished mastering compound sentences. The four types of sentences they will learn are:
-Simple Sentences
-Compound Sentences
-Complex Sentences
